
MOUNT JACKSON, Va. — The Town of Mount Jackson will host Buck Ryan Day on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on King Street in downtown Mount Jackson.
The event celebrates the 100th birthday of Buck Ryan, the town’s own three-time national fiddle champion, and will also mark the 200th anniversary of Union Church.
The festival will feature:
• Live music throughout the day
• A vendor market
• Vintage cars and motorcycles
• Pony rides, face painting, and family-friendly games
• Historical displays and presentations at Union Church and Burkett’s Store
• And a free cupcake giveaway (while supplies last)
Live Music Schedule:
2:00 – 3:30 p.m. — Herb & Hanson
3:30 – 4:00 p.m. — Brittany Leigh Frye
4:00 – 5:00 p.m. — Cutch Tuttle & Tuttle Family String Band
5:00 – 6:00 p.m. — Kailee Dishmon and the Ryan Dishmon Band
6:00 – 8:00 p.m. — The Rogue Farmers (Main Stage headliner)
The Rogue Farmers blend traditional Appalachian roots with a contemporary edge. The band features violinist Greg Hiser, bassist Scott Carey, guitarist/vocalist Tonia McConchie, and mandolinist/vocalist Bob McConchie — each with diverse musical backgrounds ranging from classical ensembles to bluegrass and rock.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an afternoon of live music, food, and community spirit.
The event is free and open to the public.
