WOODSTOCK, Va. — Volunteers with the Woodstock Fire Department responded to a wildfire on the evening of Friday, April 19, 2025, on Wetzel Hollow Road, northwest of town. The fire, which burned approximately three-quarters of an acre, was sparked by a tree falling on a power line.

Crews faced hard-to-access terrain and windy conditions, but a quick response prevented the fire from spreading further.

The department thanked Tom’s Brook Fire Department, Shenandoah County Fire and Rescue, and the Virginia Department of Forestry for assisting in the effort. A total of 16 Woodstock Fire Department volunteers responded to the call.
