Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office to Host Fraud Summit on May 8

WOODSTOCK, VA — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office will host a special Fraud Summit on Wednesday, May 8, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office headquarters. The event aims to educate residents about the latest scams targeting local citizens and provide strategies to prevent financial fraud.

The summit will feature speakers from a range of agencies and institutions, including:

Patti Menders, Community Liaison Officer with the Virginia Office of the Attorney General

Tracey Jenkins, Assistant Vice President, First Bank

Christopher Biby, Vice President, United Bank

Captain Whitney Mauck, Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office

Representatives from the Woodstock Police Department

Topics will include current scam trends, prevention techniques, and resources for victims. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided by First Bank and United Bank.
