Two Shenandoah County men face felony charges in separate incidents

WOODSTOCK, Va. — The Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office has released details on two recent arrests involving felony charges in separate cases.

On April 17, James Tyler Clater of Strasburg was arrested and charged with multiple offenses following a domestic incident. Clater is accused of brandishing a firearm, assaulting a family member, preventing a 911 call, abduction, and shooting into an occupied building. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Clater is scheduled to appear in Shenandoah Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on May 29 at 9:00 a.m.

In a separate case, Austin Tyler Roadcap of Mount Jackson was arrested on April 20 and charged with two counts of animal cruelty. His court appearance is set for June 20 at 11:00 a.m. in Shenandoah General District Court.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details about either case.
