MIDDLETOWN, Va. — Main Street will fill with hundreds of vehicles Saturday as Middletown hosts its 16th Annual Car, Truck & Tractor Show.
The event will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Aug. 15 and is expected to feature as many as 400 cars, trucks and tractors, ranging from classic and custom vehicles to modern show cars and specialty builds.
The annual show was started 16 years ago by Mayor Charles Harbaugh IV and has grown into one of Middletown’s largest summer events.
City National Bank, Thomas Lash, Esquire, and Hang 10 Car Wash are serving as major sponsors.
Registration is $10 per vehicle, with proceeds benefiting Middletown’s Fourth of July celebration. Each registered vehicle will receive a free $25 car wash from Hang 10 Car Wash, a free drink from Shaffer’s BBQ & Market and discounts at Vault & Cellar and Daily Buzz Café.
DJ Freddie Cheshire will provide live music during the event.
A vendor area will be set up at the farmers market site with automotive parts, accessories and specialty merchandise. Star in the Valley Winery will sell wine and beer, while food and beverages will also be available from Middletown Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company.
U.S. 11 through the event area will close at 2:45 p.m.
The show will also feature thousands of dollars in raffle and silent-auction items donated by area businesses.
This year’s awards will include a new Best Corvette in the Valley Award in memory of Dr. Robert G. Kendall, a neurosurgeon whose farm was located in Middletown and who recently died. Jim Stutzman will present the award.
Other honors will include Best Tractor, Best European Car, the Mayor’s Award, the Sheriff’s Award, Top 25 Old Cars and Top 10 New Cars.
“From our generous sponsors to our local businesses, this is a day where we bring people together to enjoy the very best of Middletown while showcasing the incredible craftsmanship and pride that goes into these vehicles,” Harbaugh said.
Frederick County Sheriff Lenny Millholland said the show has become a favorite for car enthusiasts throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
“For many years, Middletown has hosted the best car show in the Shenandoah Valley,” Millholland said. “With hundreds of vehicles from all years, whatever your favorite car is, normally you will be able to find one or two at this car show. It has been one of the best car shows and has such beautiful trophies.”
Collectible license plates and auto parts will also be sold at 7881 Main St., including 2025 Middletown plates for $10 and special 250th commemorative plates.
The event typically draws thousands of spectators and has become one of Middletown’s signature summer traditions.
